Interview Ania Gauer & Julien Gauthier


French Codirectors Ania Gauer and Julien Gauthier met in 2017 on a set on which she was an actress and he was a key grip. They soon found out that they both aspired to become filmmakers and started collaborating in 2019 on what would become their first short film « Comme des grands » (English Title: Adulting). They both share a common interest in mise end cène and storytelling which express themselves visually for Julien and through actors’ direction for Ania.

Interview Desiree Abeyta


Desirée is a multifaceted Hispanic Filmmaker known for exploring social and feminist themes through a magical, hopeful lens. She is the proud Executive Producer of the Telly Award-Winning (2020) comedic web series “FabUless”, which was also nominated for eight Indie Series Awards, including Best Comedic Series and Best Comedic Actress. Her first venture into filmmaking as a writer/director, “An Invitation to Tea” (for which Desiree was one of 5 recipients of the inaugural Inwood Art Works Filmmakers Grant), won the Audience Choice Award when it premiered at the 2020 Charlotte Film Festival. Her dark comedy “Find a Penny” also placed top 5 in the Dances with Films: Film Rumble when she was invited to compete in their quarantine 160 second film competition last July. She lives with her spouse and pug in NYC, where she moonlights as a producer for branded content and human interest stories.

He was president of the Fipresci Jury at the Cannes Film Festival 2015 and the Berlin Film Festival 2018, among others. Co-author of the books “New York City – The Disco that Started the Disco Era in Brazil” and the fiction “The Mythoman”. Editor and organizer of books about director John Carpenter, actor Kirk Douglas, actress Marilyn Monroe and “Mcqueen – Wanted Alive or Dead “, about the American television series starring actor Steve McQueen. He also acts as a curator of cinematographic exhibition of films , having curated the film exhibitions that brought together the work of David Lynch, John Waters, Dario Argento, John Carpenter, Neville D’Almeida, Carlos Reichenbach and George A. Romero, and around James Dean, Frank Sinatra, Kirk Douglas, Warren Beatty, Paul Newman, Steve McQueen and Marilyn Monroe, as well as retrospectives on “Star Trek”, “The Disco Age in Cinema”, “Rock Terror”, “Homoerotic Allusions of Classic Cinema”,”In the Packages of a Partnership: Stigwood, Olivia and Travolta”and “Jazz goes to Hollywood”. In 2016, he created the festival “Rio Fantastik Festival – International Festival of Fantastic Cinema in Rio de Janeiro”, which has had five editions. Teacher of the cinema course at Estácio de Sá University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Interview Andrés Tapia y Diego Valdés


Andrés studied Filmmaking in Escuela de Cine de Chile in Santiago. He graduated in 2012. Since then he has been working on videoclips and he produced the experimental Hamlet short film “William Shakespeare’s Dream In Constantinople” (2013) which was selected in the Mississipi International Film Festival, Santa Monica Independent Film Festival, and the Indie Film Fest among others. “Presence” is his short film debut as a director. Diego is a writer and actor who studied Filmmaking in Santiago, Chile, and acting in The Chekhov and the Eric Morris Acting studio. In 2017 he wrote and directed the short film “The Other” which won 34 International awards . In 2019 he co-directed and co-wrote the film “Los Seguidores (The Followers) which won the World “48 Hour Film Festival” at the Yearly Festival, Filmapalooza, held in Rotterdam as the best script of the year (among 5000 competitors and the 120 Finalists from around the world)) and won a spot as the top 10 films of the competition that will be part of the exhibition to be held in Cannes Film Festival in 2021. He wrote and Co-directed “Presence” with Andres Tapia, which has been recognized recently for it’s direction in The Buddha Film Festival en India, and won best script and acting in Punta del Este’s Latinoamerican film festival en December.

She is also the founder and director of the Cultures of Resistance Network, an organization that promotes global solidarity and supports educators, organizers, farmers, and artists to build a more just and peaceful world through nonviolence and creativity

John Ricciutti worked as a television host at a Public Television Station. He has interviewed 27 veterans of foreign wars and conflicts for the Library of Congress. Film editor, Isaac Mell is an independent media production professional. Jill, John and Isaac are currently working on a project that puts the spotlight on prison reform. We are inspired to produce films that have social meanings, are educational, entertaining and informative.

A French Native, N.P. Novack is an award winning commercial director, who has worked on campaigns for major brands. His work is instantly recognizable for its elegance and aestheticism, skillfully capturing or creating a particular atmosphere. With his first short film « The Dawn », N.P. Novack turned to fiction to transport Iggy Pop to realm of the Strange.

Interview Isaac Nervla


Isaac Nevrla is a writer, director, and actor based in Brooklyn, NY. Billy, Baby is Isaac’s directorial debut. Isaac is currently in post production for his most recent film titled Mutt: a short thriller taking place in colonial New England. Outside of the time he spends making films, he enjoys long runs, dodging taxi’s, and playing guitar as he sings loudly from his apartment.
